In Lakeland, FL, several churches and even the local university have been using CBR (Community Bible Reading). It is just a simple plan to read 4 chapters a day – one out of the NT, one out of the Law, one out of History, and one out of the Prophets. The plan can be found at http://www.joincbr.com/CBR-1YRReadingList.pdf. Would you be interested in adding this reading plan to the ones you already have?
Yes. That’s a great idea. We’ll get in touch with the CBR folks.
Amy, are you affiliated with CBR?
Hi,
eBible app came highly recommended by a friend who was one of your beta testers.
Essentially it works perfectly as a ebook should for me, But I am interested in the bible reading plans and I’m wondering if I’ve set something up wrong.
My vision of how the reading plan would work for me was that I would pick up the ipad, open eBible and there would be my reading plan of the day… right htere for me. That didn’t happen and when I opened the link fvrom the email it went to the website which suggested that I download the app which I have already and I ended up in a frustrating loop.
I wonder if you can tell me if my vision of how I felt it would work was right or not… or if my described experience was how it actually works> ie is the reading plan integrated with the app. Or am I expecting too much here.
With many thanks for your time, and your consideration (and all the hard work that you’ve already put in)
Kerryn
Hi Kerryn,
You’re absolutely right in how it should work. We just launched reading plans for our eBible.com website yesterday. The iPhone/iPad version will be updated for reading plans and be available by end of month. I’m so sorry for the inconvenience but yes, you are right. It is very frustrating to have to open the link from the email. In the updated iPhone/iPad version, you will get notification directly from the app itself. You won’t even get an email. Hope this helps and thank you so much for your patience.
Colin
Sounds awesome. May God’s spirit hover over your shoulder as you sort out the necessary programming and testing, that He may use it as a Christmas gift to the world!
Thanks again for your vision and the hard work already completed.
Hi,
We have a reading plan which takes people through the entire Bible in a year. They will read the Old Testament through once, and the New Testament through twice in the year, each day reading a chapter or two from the New Testament, a chapter or two from the first half of the Old Testament, and a chapter or two from the Psalms through to the Prophets.
Is there someway that we can add this reading plan? There would be many people who would be interested in using this plan.
Thanks heaps!
Hi Caleb,
Yes! Custom reading plans will be coming very soon (a week or so). You’ll be able to create it and share it with everyone on eBible. Stay tuned.
