Changes to the eBible.com Discuss Section

Recently we have been battling an influx in spam on the Discuss section at eBible.com. While Discuss has and continues to be a valuable tool for eBible.com users, the useful bits can be marbled with offensive links if we aren’t able to remove them immediately (which can be a full time job at times).

Since we refuse to subject our users to those inappropriate posts, we are taking down the Discuss section for the time being. We might bring back a forum in the future but for now we want to hear your ideas and comments here on the blog (such as the post below), so keep your comments coming.

    Yep. Spam sucks. However, is this better? (Above looks like spam to me). New Forum software? (some have some built in spam filtering) Adding some moderators from the community?

    I love the idea of community moderators. That would really help to lessen the load on your end and it would allow members of the eBible.com community to feel more involved and have a way to give something back in return for the way this site has blessed each of us.
